Today, exercise is being encouraged more than ever in the general population. While moderate exercise has been shown to reverse aging induced immunologic shift, more intense exercise can create specific metabolic shifts to weight gain, fatigue, mood disorders and even cytokine sickness. By understanding the cellular shifts in the recreational athlete, a more elegant metabolic protocol can result in gratifying results, consistent gains, reduced injury and improved aging parameters. Topics will include periodization of training, nutraceuticals that support the weekend warrior and immunomodulation for those who insist on triathlons, cycling, marathon and intense resistance training.
